Our Little Kindergartener!
Our girls have a specialbirthday plate that they use every year on their birthday. It was given to Kevin by his Grandma Lee when he was just a kid. Our girls look forward to using it on their birthday.

Marlee and Graycie

My Graycie

What do I say about my baby girl ..........there aren't enough words that describe how much joy this little girl brings into my life. I am so blessed to have two beautiful daughters. And today I am honoring my youngest since we just celebrated her 5th birthday.

Graycie says the cutest things to us, and you just never know what is going to say. The other day we were driving down the road and Graycie says, "Mom, what is the most amazing thing that has ever happened to you?". Really? What five year old thinks about that? It totally threw me off guard and at the same time brought a tear to my eye. I thought that was the sweetest thing anyone has ever asked me.

Another wonderful Graycie story happened just the other day when I picked her up from Kindergarten. I said, " o.k. Grayce, do you think you can handle walking into school tomorrow without Mom? She said, " Mom, of course I can handle it. I am a kindergartener now." The look on her face was priceless. I wish I could take pictures of moments like this and put them in my pocket to keep FOREVER!!!

Graycie LOVES her older sister Maryssa. The older Graycie gets, the more they seem to play together and I love that! Maryssa is realizing that her little sister is actually pretty cool and a lot of fun to be around. The best is watching them hug one another and tell each other they love one another. I am a little sappy I know, but that is one of the joys of being a Mom.

Part of Graycie's 5th birthday this year was our little weekend getaway at the Green Valley Ranch. Graycie wanted to do that instead of a friends party. She wanted to lay by the pool and have a little spa day. The pool was terrific, but the spa thing didn't happen because we ended up staying at the pool until 8:30pm. But we all had a great time and enjoyed each others company so much!

Yesterday was Graycie's actual birthday. I took peace sign cupcakes to her class (per Graycie's request). Graycie, Grammie and I went to lunch. Graycie had her cousin Marlee over to play after school and then Grandma's and Grandpa's stopped by that evening for cupcakes and ice cream.......oh.... and she did get to open a few presents.

Wonderful Sunday Dinner.......

We had such a wonderful Sunday dinner this past Sunday. Kev's parents, sister, nephews and their families came over. We don't get together that often, but when we do we all have such a great time visiting. The kids got to play and we saw little miss Wynnlee Fae for the first time. What a beautiful baby girl she is! Congrats Jared and Teralee!!

My Miss Maryssa helped me with the cooking. Our menu was Pork Tenderloin with a Blackberry Jalepeno Sauce, Rosemary Potatoes, Greek Pasta Salad, and of course our traditional oil/vinegar en salata! For dessert we had Banana Cream Pie along with Cheesecake and fresh blackberries to top. Everything was delicious! I love it that Maryssa loves to help cook in the kitchen. She is always coming up with new meal ideas......so cute and creative. Just love that girl!
Kev's Mom and Dad brought over a puzzle for our girls
to put together....but the adults are the ones who ended up
putting it together. They were determined to get it finished!
Teralee, Tammy and Kev's Mom Anita....and of
course, little miss Wynnlee Fae. She is such a beautiful
baby girl! We are so glad she is finally here and healthy.
CONGRATS Jared & Teralee!!!

We miss Aunt Tammy and are so glad she was here!

I have to say.....It's good to be home!

After our trip to Navajo Lake, Utah, I decided to spend the next week in Reno with Kev. He has been working there every week, and I knew that it would be great for us to spend some time together. We both really enjoyed living in Reno and have to admit that we do miss it there.

While Kev was at work everyday I went to lunch with friends, worked out, went running, laid out by the pool and read my book, did a little shopping........needless to say I did have a relaxing week, except I did feel a bit lost and a little guilty. I was missing my girls and missing their company so much! I am so thankful that my Mom and Dad were able to watch our girls for us while we were away. I never worry when our girls are with their Grammy and Grandpa!

We didn't have time to hit the lake this trip, but looking forward to doing that sometime soon!

We had a wonderful week in Reno, but my favorite part was going to the lake. The girls and I were so excited about hanging out on the beach, building sand castles and playing in the water. Wishful thinking I guess.......I forget that Tahoe is still pretty cool in June. We were the only crazy people not wearing jackets! After our dinner on the lake at Lone Eagle, we headed out on the beach to take a quick pic and head for the heated car. We were a little disappointed, but can't wait to go back when the weather is a little warmer!

Tulips are my favorite flower. I saw these at
the Lone Eagle Grill in Incline Village. Thought
they were beautiful and had to take a pic.

Finally Getting My Garden Started

I have been talking about and wanting to start a garden for quite some time now, and we finally got it started this weekend. So excited about it! I have to admit that my thumb isn't very green, but I am ready to learn as much as I can. Growing up we always had fresh veggies from my Grandma and Grandpa Sharp's garden and I have come to realize that there is nothing like it! I just hope that one day my garden will produce excellent veggies like theirs.

We have had a nice relaxing weekend, but are heading to Reno/Tahoe tomorrow morning for the week. Kev has been working there quite a bit lately, and we are ready to spend some time there with him. I LOVE Tahoe this time of year and can't wait to have a nice relaxing week!

Homemade Salsa

I am making some homemade salsa and thought I would share it with all of you. This is a HUGE staple in our kitchen. It is a very easy recipe and so handy to have available.

Here is the recipe: (no measurements, just to taste)

1 can of diced tomatoes, with lime juice & chipotle
cumin
garlic salt
lemon pepper
fresh lemon Juice
fresh cilantro
chili powder
(*add fresh garden tomatoes if available)

Blend all ingredients together in a blender and enjoy.

I absolutely LOVE this salsa on my veggie, egg white omelet....try it.

Maryssa & Graycie at JR Stables

Our girls love to go to Grandpa's horse property and visit. Maryssa has decided that she wants to help her Grandpa feed his horses. She loves to draw horses, learn about horses, read about horses, but when it comes to petting them......well that's a different story. I am hoping that by helping her Grandpa feed, she will overcome some of her fears.
